Practice good personal hygiene as simply handling the pet food can transmit the Salmonella bacteria to humans.
Dogs and/or cats that have become infected with Salmonellainfections may show various signs including reduced appetite, fever and stomach pain.
Diarrhea with or without blood along with a fever and vomiting may also occur.
Pets infected that appear to be healthy may carry the bacteria and transmit the infection to other pets and people.
